Kelly Schmidt, Founder and President

Kelly founded Krucible Consulting out of her passion and drive to bring excellence to project delivery in the transportation industry. Her professional experience in the AEC industry spans decades and includes holding key management roles on prime contractor, owner’s representative, and consultant teams, and projects totaling over

$3 billion. Kelly excels at inspiring creative solutions from a blank canvas, and aligning project goals and strategic vision among owners, contractors, and engineers to

overcome challenges and deliver meaningful work. 

Throughout her career, Kelly has successfully led and contributed to winning pursuits ranging from the tens of millions to hundreds of millions. In 2023, Kelly led the development and delivery of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT's) awarded $450 million Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods (RCN) grant for the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project in Portland, Oregon. ODOT’s RCN grant award is the largest in ODOT’s history and in the USDOT’s Fiscal Year 2023 RCN program.
